【THE JOB / Group Account Director】
The Group Account Director (GAD) is responsible for the overall leadership of several key accounts in Japan market.  The GAD will have a high level of interaction with clients and is expected to be the key interface to drive and ensure client servicing success and excellence. Specifically, there is an exciting growth opportunity with one key global account due to more sports sponsorship activity in Japan. A GAD is required to ensure Octagon’s delivery is world-class and is seen as the agency of choice by the clients, driving a steady growth of the account revenue and providing strategic leadership to our clients in how to activate best in class events and experiences. The GAD will be also expected to take an active role in new business development under the guidance of the MD, North & East Asia to help pursue opportunities from within IPG and new connections.  
The right candidate will be experienced in delivering and driving brand marketing services work that can be applied to sports and entertainment sphere with experience working for or with agencies. The GAD must be a strong leader, able to establish credibility and authority with clients and within Octagon. You will need to not only lead a team locally, but also leverage and collaborate with various Octagon teams and functions located across APAC and rest of the world. 
The role will report jointly to the Managing Director (MD), North & East Asia and Client Services Director, APAC with close collaboration to regional and global Key Account Leads.

【Client Account Management】
• Serve as the senior client partner to several key accounts in Japan. 
• Demonstrate strong strategic leadership in activating partnerships to the highest level
• Ability to develop and sell in new ideas to evolve work, by working closely with the creative, wider APAC client service and strategy team. 
• As a leader you must have the expertise, gravitas and charisma to cultivate and manage account relationships to be seen and respected as a trusted leader and point-person by the client.
• You must have clear leadership skills to guide the current Japan team to support their growth and development in client account management.
• In conjunction with GAD peers, establish region wide processes and implement best practices within Account Management group and other teams as needed
 

【Project Management & Financial Acumen】
• Drive world-class project management and team leadership to ensure successful planning and execution for a new running sponsorship by the Key Account and for other future clients. Work streams include strategic vision, project planning, activation, campaign delivery, experiential, hospitality and more. 
• Lead day-to-day client interface to ensure sound comprehension of project needs including adherence to rights-holder processes, business objectives, budgetary parameters, delivery timelines effectively managing client expectations.
• Oversee the revenue, profitability and staffing for your key clients, and sign off on SOW/production budget development. Manage finance trackers, budgets, and program reconciliations
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the account team enabling individuals’ growth, whilst providing regular and consistent feedback.
• Be proactive, seek new opportunities and collaborate with peers across the network for support in account evolution.
 

【Growing Accounts & New Business】
• Generate forward-thinking, creative ideas to improve sponsorship-led programs and develop differentiated use of existing partnerships for continued client growth.
• Lead the creation and negotiation with clients for new Scopes of Work, including resource plans and fee proposals that ensures financial health and growth of the accounts towards achieving the assigned financial goals.
• Actively identify, create and pursue new business opportunities across new or existing client’s portfolio via prospecting and contributing to the development of proposals under the guidance of the MD North & East Asia.

 

【Team & Culture Leadership】
• Lead from the front with a ‘can do’ attitude and proactive ownership of projects and process, upholding the highest quality standards, both in service and deliverables. 
• Effectively manage direct reports, inspiring loyalty and commitment, providing relevant level of support while instilling confidence, motivation and empowerment, while providing feedback on a regular basis and ensuring career progression is supported, allowing team members to become effective, independent and increasingly capable of working well with less supervision
• Implement management routines and protocols to champion an environment for thoughtful ideation, critical review, and transparent communication of program updates across the organization locally and regionally.
• Additional projects as assigned, which may include assistance on other events and hospitality programs, sponsorship evaluations, competitive reviews, white papers, property research, etc.

必須条件

•10 – 12+ years of relevant experience 
• Have a passion and knowledge of the sport and entertainment industry 
• Experienced in leading complex cross-functional projects (inclusive of brand, digital, media, communications, and product streams) across diverse APAC markets

• Experience in partnerships (in any category, traditional or media) or in sports, gaming, or entertainment 

• Extensive experience of owning and growing positive and effective relationships with senior client stakeholders, resulting in account growth and evolution; ability to cultivate strong relationships with staff, other internal stakeholders, vendors and partners.

•Excellent Japanese and English linguistic skills

•Willingness and flexibility to travel and work weekend/holidays as needed
